WE LOVE THIS GUY!!!!

Zach Sherwin, aka MC MR. NAPKINS, is a comedian and a rapper.  After growing up in Ohio and Missouri, Napkins moved to Boston, where he attended

Brandeis University and began performing comedy.   Now based in Los Angeles, he plays live shows all over the country and posts music videos at youtube.com/mcmrnapkins.  Napkins’s accomplishments include releasing “MC Mr. Napkins: The Album” (Comedy Central Records), appearing on E!, VH1, and CNN Headline News, writing for the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, performing in Montreal’s prestigious Just For Laughs Festival, and knowing that “Napkins’s” is the correct way to make “Napkins” possessive.
You’re gonna LOVE what he does.  Seriously, google this dude.

SPECIAL GUEST:
Inland Empire Youth Slam Team

Say Word is an organization that targets at-risk youth in Southern California teaching youth empowerment through literary and performing arts. In 2009, Executive Director Kat Magill serving as Coach and Slam-master with assistant coach Dr. Javon Johnson, started the I.E. Youth team also known as Kxadooosh, along side an amazing bunch of ambitious teens determined to give their city a voice that could not be ignored. In their first year, they earned a regional championship, competing against the best young poets from LA to San Francisco. In the same year, Kxadooosh ranked in the top 15 out of 75 teams at Brave New Voices International Poetry Slam (as seen on HBO). In 2010, they earned their second regional championship and then earned title for the 3rd time as Brave New Voices Western Regional Champions in 2011 as well as ranking 6th internationally at Brave New Voices International Poetry Competition. Now recognized nationally and locally, members have gone on to teaching workshops in poetry and youth development, performed for Council Members of Los Angeles, earned four year full scholarships to Universities through the art of poetry, performed with some of the best known spoken word artist in the nation, as well as starting poetry clubs within their own high schools and colleges. Other members have been key factors in building foundations for art programs in start up non profits, acting as youth mentors within Say Word and surrounding organizations.

The 2012 IE Youth Slam Team AKA Kxadoosh is made up of 5 members including Krys Bragg, Tre Bain, Wasabi, Destiny and Jacob Weiss.  There is no limits to what they can accomplish.

FEATURED BAND:
The Christopher Brothers
These guys ROCKED the Battle of the Bands a few weeks ago.

At the young ages of 15, 13, and 10, these boys write and play their own music, as well as an impressive collection of retro classics and current hits that appeal to audiences of all ages. They have played extensively throughout the Los Angeles area including the world famous Whisky a Go Go. The band has performed at Six Flags Over Texas and at LEGOLAND California for their annual 4th of July Celebration. During this year’s SXSW Music Festival, the band performed for over 200 people on 6th St. in Austin. They also recently opened for music legends Spyro Gyra and Al Jarreau at the Vancouver Wine and Jazz Festival. They are always huge crowd pleasers at Six Flags  Magic Mountain and Discovery Kingdom, and local fairs and festivals such as the San Diego and Orange County Fairs.
Their original songs “Just Another Day” and “What If?” are as undeniably catchy as the classic hits they play by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Santana. The infectious melodies of California pop have never sounded so irresistible with their fun and upbeat take on life and romance from the teen perspective.
SEE YA THERE!!
